  • From the ship named the Queen Mother, built in 1955 by C Hill & Sons of Bristol. The boat was used as a piot vessel working out of Bristol & Avonmouth. The Binnacle was crafted by A.Davis & company (shop fitters) with the patent 196. The Binnacle houses a Sestral compass by 'Hallgren Koben havn' ( Copenhagen). Which is mounted in gimbals to keep it level whilst the ship pitched & rolled. Within the housing on the sides are two door flaps within are the numbered magnets.
